Desecration are a five-piece death metal band from Newport, Gwent in South Wales. Their first album, Gore and Perversion, was seized on release by the Metropolitan Police, and dealt with by the "victorian" Obscene Publications Squad. All CDs, the DAT tape and artwork films were confiscated and DESTROYED. On 1st December 1995 Desecration were in court, charged with trying to corrupt the minds of the public! Edited demo versions were taken in house raids; and fans have been warned and even ARRESTED for wearing the bands T-Shirts. Fortunately, the charges were dropped, as it would give publicity to the group. ARCTIC SERENADES from Norway (Now from Scotland), offered to take up the release of the CD and a tape that was hidden away, containing the rough mixes of all 13 songs was sent to them. Eventually, Gore and Perversion was released with the original lyrics and artwork. The album has been selling well, despite being illegal in many countries. The British Embassy are currently trying to make the album ILLEGAL in ALL OF EUROPE!
